Professor James Johnston Walker, MD, FRCPs (Glas), FRCP (Edin), FRCOG is Professor and Chairman in the University Department Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Leeds University and Honorary Consultant, St James University Hospital, Leeds. He is the Clinical Lead in the Centre of Reproduction and Early Development (CRED).
He is the immediate past Senior Vice-President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Leading on Global Health, was Chairman of the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Enquiries (CMACE), and Obstetric Advisor to the National Patient Safety Agency, (NPSA).
Professor James Walker is a clinically active high-risk obstetrician with a particular interest in pre-eclampsia and has active funded research into the genetics of preeclampsia and predictors of poor pregnancy outcome.
He was a founding member of the SCOPE consortium biomarkers of pregnancy complications and GOPEC consortium studying the genetics of pre-eclampsia.
